Thomasin Hammer, DPM

Thomasin Hammer, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Thomasin Hammer joined the Family Foot Center directly out of her surgical residency in 2001. She was involved with the Sacred Heart Wound Care Clinic for eight years and is currently also working one day per week at the Welpinit Indian Health Clinic. She is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatry Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. Hammer is trained in treating a multitude of foot conditions ranging from ingrown toenails to reconstructive bunion surgery to preventative diabetic foot care. Her philosophy is to always choose the right treatment and to make a medical decision based on the best interests of her patients, without financial influence. She feels it is important to always render conservative care first where possible. Dr. Hammer has been active and athletic her whole life, which makes her understand the importance for her patients to want to be active and walk without pain.

She’s very much affected and humbled by the trust that her patients and referring providers place in her services.
In her spare time, she enjoys running, swimming, dance, water-sports, and travel. She is married with two children and appreciates a fulfilling home and work/life balance.

Brent Clark, DPM

Brent Clark, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Clark grew up in the Inland Northwest and finished his high school years locally in Cheney, WA. He attended Eastern Washington University where he studied and double majored in chemistry as well as communications studies. There he developed an interest in functional anatomy of the lower extremity and the mechanics of human gait. He went on to study podiatric medicine at California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, CA. He completed his podiatric surgical training at the VA- Puget Sound and Madigan Army Medical Center Podiatric Surgical Residencies in Tacoma, WA where he performed over 1000 surgical procedures on the foot and ankle. In this training, he received considerable experience dealing with diabetic limb preservation, sports medicine, and correction of flatfeet.

Dr. Clark understands that pain-free movement is essential to living life to its fullest. His goal is to return his patients to a level of function that allows them to enjoy life uninhibited by pain. He believes in a coordinated team approach to treatment of foot and ankle disorders and feels that medical and surgical decisions should be based on scientific evidence. His research has been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and he remains active in research directed at improving surgical care of patients with the painful foot or ankle.

Dr. Clark’s areas of interest include foot and ankle reconstructive surgery for treatment of pes planus (flatfoot) and other disorders of misaligned forefoot, rearfoot, and/or ankle. He is extensively trained in surgical repair of traumatic musculoskeletal injuries to the foot and ankle, as well as a special interest in healing chronic wounds and sports medicine.

Dr. Clark enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, two daughters and two sons, in the Spokane/Post Falls/Coeur d’Alene region and the outdoors of the great Northwest.
