He first came to see me with an infection of that toe due to the wound on the tip. This wound is called an Ulcer, and it forms because of the Hammertoe alignment of the toe. Too much pressure to that part of the toe, and it literally “breaks open”.

I did a simple tenotomy procedure to that toe, and you will see how nicely it healed the wound. A tenotomy is a procedure which severs part of the tendon that is holding the toe “downward”, like a too-tight rubberband. We just cut that “rubberband” and the toe releases enough to heal. It’s a brilliant procedure.

The tip of that toe is now all healed up!
